Coltan Mining Process

The coltan mining plant follows four key steps:

1. Raw ore is graded through a sieving process;

2. Large-size ore fractions enter the grinding process;

3. Gravity separation is conducted using jigging machines;

4. Small concentrates are finally refined by shaking tables.

Function of Key Machines

1. The vibrating feeder evenly feeds coltan-bearing ore to the vibrating screen. The vibrating screen classifies materials into three fractions: +30mm, 10-30mm, and -10mm. The 10-30mm fraction is sent to the cone crusher for grinding until it reaches -10mm.

2. The jig separator concentrates coltan particles, producing +2mm coltan concentrate on the sieve. The -2mm coltan concentrate passes through the jig separator screen and is re-concentrated by the shaking table.
