Industrial Background
Linear screen is a mechanical device that uses vibrating motors to generate linear vibrations, causing materials to move forward on the screen surface for sieving, with smaller particles passing through the screen mesh and larger ones remaining. It is widely used in mining, construction, chemical and food industries for material separation and classification.
Working Principle
Linear vibrating screen is driven by multiple vibratory motors. While the vibration motors perform synchronous or counter rotation, the exciting force generated by eccentric blocks cancels out transverse forces, with longitudinal resultant force transmitted to the entire screen surface. This creates a straight-line motion track. With an inclination between exciting force direction and screen surface, materials are thrown up and jump forward in a straight line under combined force of excitation and gravity, achieving screening and classification.
Detail Procedures of Linear Screen
Material Feeding: Materials are fed onto the upper part via belt conveyors or vibrating feeders, evenly distributed on the screen surface for smooth screening.
Vibration Generation: Vibrating motors generate high-frequency linear vibration forces, transmitted to the screen frame and mesh, causing straight-line vibration.
Material Movement and Screening: Driven by vibration, materials move forward linearly. Particles smaller than mesh size pass through to the collection area, while larger particles continue to the end as oversize materials.
Multi-stage Screening (if applicable): Some models have multiple screen layers with different mesh sizes for detailed multi-stage separation by particle size.
Discharge and Collection: Separated materials are collected separately – undersize in bins/conveyors below, oversize discharged from screen end for further processing or disposal.
Continuous Operation: Operates continuously with steady material supply, constantly separating different particle sizes to meet production needs.
Applications
Mining Industry: Widely used for ore classification (iron ores, copper ores, etc.) to improve ore grade.
Construction Industry: Screens sand, gravel and aggregates to ensure building material quality.
Chemical Industry: Separates and grades chemical raw materials and powders (cement, fertilizers, pigments production).
Food Industry: Sieves flour, sugar, grains and food ingredients to remove impurities and ensure product quality.
Advantages
High Screening Efficiency: Handles large material volumes quickly with high-precision separation.
Simple Structure: Few components for easy installation, operation and maintenance.
Stable Performance: Linear vibration ensures even material movement for stable, reliable screening results.
Wide Applicability: Adjustable for different materials and particle sizes by changing screen mesh and vibration parameters.
